Veganism is for all, and children are our future. To demonstrate that being vegan does not exist in isolation, the KidZone offers the chance to meet vegans from a dynamic range of walks in life. The KidZone also offers activities to entertain children and adults alike, including a giant imagination playground, craft and a kids cooking demonstration.
Easy Vegan Cake Decorating
Sara Kidd is a vegan baking ambassador, cake designer and baker, living between Sydney, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand. Her new retro-inspired baking show BAKE VEGAN STUFF with SARA KIDD and online community feature a wealth of free vegan baking resources and video recipes. Her passion for baking was evidenced by her inability to stop watching Martha Bakes on netflix, wondering if my apron matched my spatular. I wanted to create eye-popping cakes and desserts that inspired others to bake vegan. So I now focus my time on creating vegan cakes, baking recipes and giving support to my fast-growing online community. It’s wacky fun, with loads of vegan baking professionals and home bakers alike. She has completed courses with some of the most fabulous mainstream cake designers including Don’t Tell Charles – Thao Pham, Hey There Cupcake – Stevi Auble, Katherine Sabbath, Kara’s Cake Coutures, Sugar Art by Zoe Byrnes and the Australian Patisserie Academy in Sydney.

Zac Bird's Cooking with Kids
Zac Bird is a home cook who loves to create food that is fatty, indulgent, and all the things people think vegan food shouldn't be. He started an Instagram account in order to surround himself with more cruelty free food and fell in love with engaging the community and creating things to share. Since then, he's operated a pop-up ice-cream shop, worked with brands to introduce their vegan products, given food demonstrations, and had his recipes shared around the world. He loves anything deep fried and gluttonous and is most happy in his kitchen with some funky music playing. You can find him anywhere delicious vegan food is served or being talked about.
JIRBS - Junk, Integrated, Recycled, Birds
Hey there! We are the Raven Corps an Adelaide, a youth plant based advocacy group and we are excited to announce we will be running a workshop in Kidzone this year. The workshop we have designed will give kids of Vegan Festival the creative licence and tools to make their own Junk, Integrated, Recycled, Bird or JIRB for short! JIRBS are kind of like normal birds accept way cooler as they are created using the things people throw away. Not only that but they are the product or YOUR imagination and can have whatever quirks and special features you desire! All our materials will be kindly donated by Sea Shepherd's Marine Debris Collection team who do amazing work to help rid our oceans of plastic waste pollution.
If your kids want to learn about the impacts of ocean pollution through a fun and informative JIRBS workshop make sure to send them our way!
